After speaking to a guy at douglas valley and a bit of internet searching, i decided to try and remove the crashbox with a plumbers blowtorch and a couple of knives from the kitchen:-
Took 2.5 hours of heatingup the knives and forcing them in the gaps, it came off in the end, for the last part, i had to gently jack up the front of the crashbox with a trolley jack to help it come free. Crashbox has no damage so will be going back on.
