The engine and gearbox has been dropped back in, taken about 6 hours to plumb it all back in and connect it all up, including putting the rear subframe and suspension back on. I still need to connect up and tidy the electrics, but most of the hard work is done.
I also ordered today a radiator housing and deflector piece (£75) and pair of headlights (£40 pair) i think i have everything needed now, other than a front undertray and both front wheel arch liners.
The replacement front wheel that i won on eBay last week arrived, in perfect condition, so i can now send the least buckled of the front two away for repair, and still keep a rolling shell. I have emailed the repair people http://www.alloywheelrepairs.net/ a couple of videos to see if it can be done, i hope so, a new 111s front wheel is £320.87 inc VAT from Lotus!!
